Lahib Jaddo (b. Baghdad, 1955) is an American visual artist whose work spans painting, textile and mixed media. For over four decades, she has lived and worked in the Texas panhandle, developing a distinctive body of work which draws upon memory, landscapes, emotional interiority and myth, largely through visual narratives that explore the female figure in relation and tension with place. She spent her formative years in Iraq and Lebanon before immigrating to the US. She holds Masters of Architecture and Masters of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University and taught in the College of Architecture for thirty years. She is also the subject of the Independent Spirit award-winning documentary, Jaddoland.
