"I Come From Iraq"
Dir. Nadia Shihab. 2003. Running time: 29 min.
Directed by Lahib Jaddo's daughter as part of an undergraduate thesis project at the University of Texas at Austin, this personal documentary follows the lives of Lahib Jaddo's parents as they share the story of their slow journey from northern Iraq to Canada. Includes Smithsonian archival footage from northern Iraq in the 1930s and 40s, family photographs, news coverage of current war in Iraq, and present-day footage of their new life in a senior living community in Toronto, Canada.

This interactive CD-ROM, developed by artist James W. Johnson, features over 200 paintings and sculptures from 1989 to 1997, most with detailed views and audio commentary by the artist.

Also featured: dozens of video clips from Iraq and Lebanon, shot by her sister, filmmaker Parin Jaddo, an intimate biography, clips of belly dancers who have inspired many of her paintings.
